Thumbs up Sources for Electrical Connectors & Harnesses

I shot the above image from a video I watched recently about automotive electrical connectors. The author of the video indicated that this company can match you with a new connector using just a photo of the old one - or you can order one by providing other information.

I also saw another video that offers wiring harnesses for the 6.5 - like this one that can be found at the rear of the engine valley in a 1994 or newer electronic 6.5. That 15-pin plug can be affected by corrosion in those trucks driven north of the Mason/Dixon line during the winter. Not cheap though... This harness is currently priced at $214.

I purchased that harness from Quadstar 3 years ago when I rebuilt the 6.5L in my Tahoe. I didn't want 30 year old wiring to be the cause of future problems.

I have purchased quite a lot from Quadstar over the years. I believe they are now the premiere source of quality 6.2L/6.5L parts, and they are 6.5L enthusiasts themselves.

In fact, I just purchased a chip for a friend's 1994 C3500 that had the now obsolete 5068 pump, and the replacement 5521 pump required the updated "current" programming.

Kennedy Diesel used to be my go-to for all things 6.5L, but he's pretty much stepped out of the 6.5L game and is focusing on the Duramax line.

    You're right!

Sourcing parts is becoming a bit more difficult. Staying up with the good vendors who are providing support is important. I hope to help that this summer by working through an engine build of another 6.5 (the spare one I bought a few years ago). This'll be a complete rebuild if the engine is ok inside. We'll see...
