Talking I'm back! just bought an '04 DA LB7

    Hi everybunny!!

I haven't been around for several years. I sold my 95 6.5 and dropped off the boards.

In the mean time, I got married, and recently bought an '04 DA crewcab longbox 4x4. Really nice truck with only 127k on it.

It has the LB7 engine and other than that I don't know yet.
I bought the TDP books vol 1 & 2 but haven't recieved them yet.

No issues I know of, I'm sure they'll turn up...

Anything I should keep an eye out for?

In all seriousness, here is the list of items that I'd watch/address on that year truck, with those miles:

    • inspect transfer case for leaks. keep it clean and watch for the beginnings of any, or loss of fluid if it does develop the dreaded hole from inside
    • same with diffs - keep them clean and watch for pinion seal leaks that can lead to low fluid
    • fuel treatment. I ran a lot of cheap transmission fluid through my '02 LB7 that I traded running strong at 285K with 110K on the second set, even though they were 'light smokers' early on
