    Default Flat bed install

Has anyone put a flat bed on their truck ?
I’m trading a guy my old S-10 PU for a flat bed, it came on
an older ford and the frame rails Are wider.

I’m thinking of either moving the rails inward or adding two new rails

If it's an engineered manufacture brand, as most major brands are, I suggest adapting to retain strength (both left unmodified). If it's home-built or low end, it may not matter, or may be useless if you change the structure.

Looks like a Bradford Built.. Do u think there’s a cartoon of the Bed bolt pattern of my truck somewhere ? I would like to draw out another cartoon of what it should look like before jumping into the project..the kid that has the flat bed says he’s a fabricator and his dad has a machine shop..

I don't know about the cartoons, but I'm sure someone has measured, and perhaps took some pics. The bolts/nuts are easily accessed from underneath, so you may not need all that. I think your biggest challenge is going to be adapting the ridiculously stupid Ford taillight wiring to the slightly less ridiculously stupid GM chassis wiring. The fuel filler pipes may also be an issue. Or maybe not. I just don't know.
