Anyone have any experience/thoughts on running a Super 60 turbo on an Optimizer 6500. Truck is an '85 CUCV with a 4l80 and NP 205. Daily driver...little heavy hauling. Looking to swap out the 6.2.

Whats a super 60 turbo?
You will need a banks turbo kit to run a turbo in your straight body truck,or be really good at fabricating.
The turbo from a 5.9 cummins is supposed to be a good match.
90 Chev 3500 c/c 4x4,6.2na,400 auto,4:10 gears.DSG Timing gears,main girdle, isspro tach, pyro,boost,oil and trany temp.Dual Tstats, High volume peninsular pump,on shelf, Custom turbo and intercooler 85%complete. Change of plans for the dually, it's going to get a Cummins. Both trucks are Blue 90 4x4 crews

the so called supper 60 is a renamed Holset HX40..
You would find a hybird holset 35/40 would serve you very well and with not much input you can build it yourself with real holset parts..

iirc,. Cucv' have some deep rear end ratio's, so you are probably going to operate in an rpm range where the HX 40 would do you fine for less money with no lag,. Jmho.Originally Posted by Navydoc
