    I have fiddled with a few Gear drives, but ya know, a fresh top quality chain works real good.

    I won't argue that the gear drives are cool, but the stock type chain is fine.


    Just sayin

    do you know where to find these gear sets? I have been looking everywhere and i can not find any.

    Unfortunately, these have all been discontinued. There was one company who made his own clones, but even he quit producing them due to lack of demand. I don't know of any place to purchase new. You will have to check eBay and other places for NOS choices.

    A good fresh timing sprocket set and a new chain will give you a lot of happy miles....

    (1) 1997 Astro

    Agree... That's what I did for our 6.5 build a couple of months ago. I bought a new chain from uniquediesel.com for a good price. It was easy to install and it should work well for this mostly stock build.

    I have replaced the chain only on several 6.2/6.5 builds.

    Normally the sprockets do not wear....Chain just stretches
