I've searched the 6.2 forums and haven't located anything specific. I installed timing gears and rebuilt IP and lined up the timing marks and the motor sounded like a powerstroke. I rotated the IP so the timing mark is 1/16" to the passenger side. Is that the best I can do?
    Thanks.

Thats a good starting place to move it over to the passenger's side about the width you're describing. With my timing marks on my 86 6.2 set line to line, I was between 8-9 BTDC, it was really loud. I had it timed using a Stanadyne pulse type timing meter at a local diesel shop.
