It has been coming down steadily here. Locally I saw it for $2.26, which is about the same as mid-grade gas. This is the first I have seen it for less than premium gas in a long long time.

You all are lucky. 2.39 for gas and 2.69 for diesel (and that is the BEST price I've found on Diesel, some stations are as high as 2.89)

Why are prices rising now? This isn't the start of the summer driving season and spring is right around the corner. It was 84 flipping degrees here today...

    Default Going up again :-(

The price of Diesel has been on a steep rise in the Los Angeles area for no apparent reason, 2 weeks ago, it could be found for a relative steal of 2.55 (87 octane was 2.28) and Today, I couldn't find less than 2.87 (87 octane was 2.65).

I really really really, need to get back on track and finish my BioDiesel processor, i've got a 300gallon IBC full of Veggie Oil, and haven't finished the processor yet :-P....

Default NYTs report , OPEC news conference 3/16/'07

In Friday NYTs Business section <http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/16/business/16opec.html?_r=1&oref=slogin> Jad Mouawad reported that OPEC seems to be content with the level of crude pricing at about $60/barrel... there is no plan to increase shipments , as of now. Last year OPEC twice ratcheted down production to avoid having market prices dip beneath $50/barrel.

Closer to home ABC news reported that a late-winter surge in demand led up to the current refinery downtime for the seasonal re-configuration to maximize gasoline output for the comming summer driving campaign.

I note that fuel prices plateau when the Persian Gulf is tense.

Diesel around San Diego has been about $2.95 - 3.00 and regular is now above that by $.10 or so. The first time in years that I've seen this type of price advantage.

Default Diesel now cheaper than gas

$2.78 on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington, today. Cheaper than gas. Regular starts at $2.89, Premium at $3.09. Lots of fluctuation these last few months.

    Diesel 104.7
    Regular 114.7

Just put 34 gallons in my aux tank yesterday. It's creeped up to $2.78/gal here in SE Idaho. Regular gas is still trailing diesel here, $2.45/gal.

Diesel here in Missouri is now 30 cents a gallon cheaper than gas. I never thought I'd see this again. There must be a little more Diesel in each barrel of crude with the new gas formula. Diesel $2.599 and Gas $2.899

Diesel was down 8 cents from yesterday - 2.77 Sunday to 2.69 today. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled into the station this morning. Makes me even happier that we all napped yesterday afternoon so I didn't get a chance to fill up for the week. Regular unleaded at that same station is 3.03.

I need someone from California or New York City to chime in and make me feel better.

The best going rate is around $2.99 for Diesel with regular gas about the same. The other day, while not in my diesel truck, I saw a station with $2.89...

At least it is on par with RUG unlike a few months ago when diesel was as expenisve if not more than SUPER... I believe it is some wierd cycle called CEO pay bonus that drives the price of fuel, I mean, refining capacity and supply. Now that winter is over there is not as high a demand for home heating oil, which allows the price of diesel to simmer down a little...
