Talking to a boat hauler from Michigan today. His 2010 Ford F350 is in the shop for new injectors and an oil change at only 35K miles.

Seems it dumped enough raw fuel into the crankcase to blow the flammable mix past the crankcase ventilation, where it pooled in the intercooler until there was enough present to get drawn into the engine.

Progressively, he started getting runaway diesel episodes, while underway...

If you know someone with a late model Ford - I'd advise them to be regular checkers of their dipstick.
