    HELLO

I have never seen a GEP 6500 with an intercooler.
Normally these engines don't use enough boost to really gain much from any sort of aftercooler.

I have never seen any pictures, but if you can find them please post so we can see too.

I have seen those pictures before.

That engine is for the HMMWV (Hummer/humvee) and its really hard to extrapolate from those pictures exactly what AMG/GEP was up to.
***The engine in the pix is a rear mount turbo version***

The plumbing on top definitely looks like it is meant for an aftercooler application.

Any cooler would probably have been an air to air type unit, but there is no way to tell what the show engine was used for, and or if it was used or just a mock up for the trade show.

You can find lots of aftercooler parts that can be easily adapted to the 6.5 engine from online suppliers.

    Here you go: http://www.uniquediesel.com/

Formerly Peninsular Diesel/Engines, no longer in business. Unique Diesel lists the intake parts under the 6.5L bolt-on parts. They may have other options available, so probably best to contact them.

I've got one of the Peninsular intercoolers on my '93 6.5 C2500 and have nothing but good to say about the kit, and the customer service that I received from Peninsular. I have a turbocharger compressor outlet temp./eng. inlet temp. dual indicator and the intercooler gives a ~90-120 degree F. temp drop at around 11 psi boost. Under full load I get 13 psi but am too busy watching the road to check the temp. differential at that boost pressure. OAT ~90-95 deg. F. when I made that reading. The thing just works, and works well. The fuel metering is turned up on my DB2 pump and at max. boost, I used to get ~1100 deg. F. Can't get it past 900 F. now at the same boost pressure. I don't see them offering this item at Unique diesel and it's a shame.

PM me your email address, Nova. It's easier for me to send you the pictures of the installation from the old Peninsular website, as there's 9 of them. That installation was on a suburban, but identical to my '93 C2500.

Tried to attach 5 of the 9 pictures from the old Peninsular website. Wouldn't let me do more than 5. Hope this helps.
